Analyze CPU usage in main and implement, suggest top 5 improvements to reduce CPU use without losing functionality or quality, propose to user, ask for approval and implement

Outcome

Profiled prod API CPU (8%→24–30% in a week); 57% was lease-drain per-node DB reads. The operator approved all 5 cuts plus the profiler fix (non-root py-spy) → PR #6177 merged; deploys containing it succeeded. Deferred: ChatView 3s poll. Filed draft 7703.
