Default Organization Operator Relationship Status

What is the status of Default or and its relationship to the Operator? How is it different from any other organization? Is there hardcoded difference? I would rather have "gmind" organization with all present users and have that org a standard tenant with no difference, so that we could test the system. How we can get this better done?
