Top 5 opportunities to reduce codebase size
Identify top 5 opportunities to massively reduce the amount of code (lines of code) in any part of the repo:
- Similar functionality that can be unified and reused
- Code that has been valuable but no more
- A front end component or a group of them duplicate another component/page functionality. Use the most modern and nice looking
- etc.
Now implement them :)
Outcome
Sweep (jscpd, vulture, import graph, test-value audit) found 0.1% duplication and no dead files, so no massive cut exists. Shipped the five real unifications (chat-agent tool primitives, e2e task-row/board-stub/access fixtures, two e2e and two Python self-clones): net −72 lines, blind code+security review clean, quick gate + 381 API, 52 Playwright, 62 infra tests green. PR #7442 queued to the merge lane. Deferred campaigns named in the report: mutation-based test pruning, root API selftests, two chat UIs, migration re-baseline. Memory: none applied.
