Identify and implement top 5 code reduction

Identify top 5 opportunities to massively reduce the amount of code (lines of code) in any part of the repo: - Similar functionality that can be unified and reused - Code that has been valuable but no more - A front end component or a group of them duplicate another component/page functionality. Use the most modern and nice looking - etc. Now implement them :)

Built and merged the top five code reductions (PR #7409, −371 net lines, 69 files): edition map spelled once; one editionModule helper (14 sites); one TabGate vocabulary (5 tab tables); retired the one-time apt-name migration; one jsdom matchMedia stand-in (47 sites). Quick gate, changed-area suites, blind code + security review lanes all pass; merge lane merged into develop (8c0fd317). Visual check done: strips and panels render cleanly at desktop and phone. Assumed the apt-migration removal is safe: live planes show every node seen since 2026-10-28 on a migrated build; 4 nodes silent since 10-27 would need re-bootstrap if they return. Unverified: the post-merge Jaah Deploy run — jaah-forge exposes no workflow-run verb for develop. Memory: used mem-31055, mem-31005; proposed none.
